Childrens Ministry

For the safety and security of all children participating in CEFC children’s ministries, each child will need to be checked in on Sunday mornings. Simply check in your child to the Nursery or CEFC Kids at a check-in kiosk.

CEFC offers several options for children during our Sunday morning worship service at 9:30am each week. CEFC KIDS is available for children in K-5th grade during the sermon portion of the worship service.

Nursery is available for all churchgoers ages 0-2 on Sundays during the worship service. For your convenience, checking in a child to the Nursery will print an extra name tag for your child’s diaper bag if you need it.

Preschool is available for all churchgoers ages 3-4 on Sundays during the worship service.

Men’s and Women’s Ministry

Engaging through events, we help men pursue their purpose, reach their potential and step into their destiny. We challenge men to ENGAGE with God and His Word, becoming leaders in their marriages, families, churches, vocations and communities.

John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (ESV). “Making, maturing and multiplying for Christ by bringing men and women together and ministering to their mind, body and spirit.”

Whether it’s a breakfast or another event, our women’s ministry includes an encouraging time of fellowship in the Word and prayer while building deeper relationships with one another. These events run at different times throughout the year and we would love to have you come out.

Worship Ministry

Worship in song and word is very important here at Conover Evangelical Free Church. We want to praise and worship him with everything we have. We have a band that leads worship.

Our music is contemporary Christian praise music, with traditional hymns set to contemporary singing. PLUS traditional hymns are played just the way they are in the hymnal.

There are many jobs that are vitally important on Sunday’s that lead people in worshipping God freely and confidently. You can sing, play an instrument, run sound or run slides.

Growth Group Ministry

Everything in life revolves around relationships. The most important relationship is a personal relationship with our heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ — a vertical relationship. In seeking to remain consistent as Christians, we must understand that horizontal relationships are what bring balance in this life. The best horizontal relationships are covenant commitments to live with others, to become connected with others. (1 Thess. 2:7-8; Heb. 3:12-13)

Each Sermon-Based Growth Group will determine its own venue and time during the week. Approximately 90-120 minutes. They can meet any day/any time of the week as long as it is before the next Sunday. This is decided by each group. In order to provide consistency and create unity within the teaching of the Sermon-Based Growth Groups ministry, each week, the topic of study and all discussion questions, will come directly from that week’s sermon.

Sermon-Based Growth Groups at CEFC will begin around the middle of September and carry through until Memorial Day. The questions are provided directly in the bulletin at Sunday morning’s service. By doing so, all Sermon-Based Growth Group participants are studying the same Scriptural section at the same time, allowing for a “layering effect” of learning as one local family of God.

Missions Ministry

At Conover Evangelical Free Church, our mission statement of Making, Maturing, Multiplying for Christ expresses our primary biblical responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ from Matthew’s Gospel 28:19-20. CEFC is committed to making disciples by sharing the hope for all mankind that is only found through the Good News of Jesus Christ. We do this by going out into the world with the promise of salvation and redemption offered by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice and promise found alone in the death and resurrection of Jesus

The Ellenwoods

Serving the Lord in Czech Republic

The Ellenwoods have been serving on the mission field for over 21 years now. We knew we were called to equip and disciple the next generation of leaders and felt called to stateside ministry, then we heard about Josiah Venture. Their vision and mission resonated with our hearts, as they sought to “equip young leaders in central and Eastern Europe to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church.

The Hendriksons

Serving the Lord in Birmingham, England

The Hendricksons have been serving in Europe since 2007. They served as evangelists and began a city wide youth group in a city in the west of France. The last 8 years they served in Paris. Rich served as a youth pastor and elder in a growing multi-cultural church as well as a conference speaker. Rachel ran the children’s ministry and a team of 70 volunteers for the ministry.
